ARTIST PROFILE | Kav Temperley
At just 19, Kav Temperley started the band Eskimo Joe, after winning a band competition he embarked on a now 24-year career as the frontman, bassist and songwriter of one of Australia’s most loved bands. The four-times platinum band received 8 ARIA awards, 15 WAMI (West Australian Music Industry) Awards, 2 APRA awards and 3 International Songwriting Competition (ISC) Awards.
Their single “Black Fingernails Red Wine” lasted in the TOP 50 for 62 weeks and had 11 songs featured in Triple J’s Hottest 100.
Kav has a passion for performing and has performed nationally and internationally in Asia, America and Europe. Highlights being the 2021 AFL grand final held in Perth, Sound Relief, Live Earth, Make Poverty History, ARIA Awards, Big Day Out, Homebake, Splendour in the Grass, Triple J’s One Night Stand, Sundance Film Festival in Utah US and the Australian showcase G’DAY USA in New York.
Kav has written and recorded seven albums for Eskimo Joe, a record for Basement Birds, and just released his second solo record, “Machines of love & Grace”.
